Comment left about Rural Route Radio on need for horse harvesting

Roger Tomlinson left a comment on your episode:

What a great podcast. You have brought up manyu points that I have tried to bring up. The FACT is that we will not change many minds. I have told how many people that we, the american people have eaten horse meat since horses arrived on this continent. Our Military ate a lot of horse meat in the 20-30's. What really infuriates me is that people who do not make a living within the industry are allowed to make a case against it. The politics that push people around amaze me as well. The Navajo Nation came out in support of Valley Meats and redacted their opinion.......meanwhile the destruction to their lands is still going on! Thanks for bringing the topic front and center!

Rural Route Radio Jan 15, 2013 Blair Dunn is the attorney representing Valley Meats attempting to provide needed service of horse harvesting

Today Blair Dunn will share with you the real live soap opera that has been playing out every single day for the past 3 years for Rick de Los Santos. The federal government and in particular the USDA have pulled out all of the stops to prevent this family from operating a needed and legal business in Roswell, NM. Blair Dunn will make a very clear visual why this is not just about horse harvesting it is about animal ownership.

This did NOT happen in my house...but so could have

A wife asks her husband, "Could you please go shopping for me
and buy one carton of milk, and if they have avocados, get 6.

A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk.

The wife asks him, "Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?"

He replied, "They had avocados."

If you're a woman, I'm sure you're going back to read it again!
Men will get it the first time.

Animal Rights WHACKJOB Quote of the day JOE BIDEN

It is being reported that a meeting between oil money silver spoon born Victoria McCullough and Vice President Joe Biden made the difference in getting a restriction on funding USDA inspectors in the horse harvest facilities. With that said we usually deal with a selective portrayal of the truth, this my friends is an outright LIE.

When horses are purchased at auction by buyers intending to kill them, they are hauled away in double-decker tractor trailers, where they are beaten and often blinded with baseball bats to mollify them. After crossing the border into Mexico, the animals are stabbed on either side – an act said to tenderize the meat – and immobilized. Workers then saw the horses' legs off at the knee and hang them so they bleed out. All while the animals are still alive.

Killer Women star Tricia Helfer added to the list NO WATCH

So while I am in the mood of ruining your day but exposing "celebrities" for there animal rights work here is a huge disappointment. Tricia Helfer is not one we can watch if we support animal agriculture despite the Hot Bad Ass she might be on Killer Women. From her own blog she says.

"[M]ost people might not know that I grew up an Alberta farm girl—getting my hands dirty, riding tractors, fixing machinery and more," writes Helfer in her letter. "I still often return to my family's farm to pitch in, and am as comfortable in the field as I am on the red carpet...To me, as with most caring Canadians, there's virtually no more abusive or neglectful way to treat an animal than to lock her in a cage and let her linger, day and night for huge lengths of time, unable to even turn around. This is why I was so heartened to read that NFACC is working to move the Canadian pork industry away from tiny gestation crates for breeding pigs." Sayara Thurston, campaigner for HSI/Canada said: "We applaud NFACC and Canadian producers for the work they have done to improve conditions for mother pigs. However, we urge them to take further steps and to take this opportunity to make the Canadian pork industry a global leader in animal welfare by including a full phase out of gestation crate confinement in the final Code of Practice."

Then of course I will not mention or link the PeTA videos that she has produced.

Don't support PINK the singer if you enjoy animals

I stand with Scott Bachmeier and if you are contributing in any way to PINK the Animal Rights Activist you are trying to end animal ownership period. These people get too much money and lose touch with the real world. Click link to listen to Dakota Trails and Tales.
